The Galaxy S Light Luxury was just announced in China packing very modest specs, the device is pretty much a "lite" variant of the Galaxy S8. The 5.8' screen from the S8 makes a return keeping the same dimensions as its bigger brother. The Light S features the same Super AMOLED panel with 1,080 x 2,220 px resolution (18.5:9). The phone has a single camera on the back - 16 MP sensor and an f/1.7 aperture. It can record 4K video at 30 fps, but OIS is absent (surprisingly). The selfie camera has an 8 MP sensor with an f/1.7 aperture. The Snapdragon 660 chipset inside the Galaxy S Light Luxury should offer similar CPU performance to the Galaxy S8's 835. It does have 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. Given the Galaxy S Light Luxury's size, it shouldn’t be a surprise that there’s a 3,000 mAh battery – the same capacity as the Galaxy S8. There’s support for fast wireless and wired charging, the latter of which goes over the USB-C port....
The Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL smartphones have just been unveiled by Google
as an upgrade to the ‘Pixel’ and ‘Pixel XL’.
Google Pixel 2
The Google Pixel is an upgrade over Its predecessor. It
comes equipped with a 5” AMOLED display, and a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, which is
not much of an upgrade but the compact size should be welcomed by folks that do
not have large hands. The bezels on the top and the bottom of the Pixel 2,
whilst sporting stereo speakers, comes off as a disappointment with the “Full Vision
“18:9 screens and “edge-to-edge” displays being the hype of 2017.
The Pixel 2 sports a rather nifty feature that appears to
have been borrowed from the HTC U11. The devices can detect pressure on the
sides of the phone, i.e. you can squeeze the device in order to activate
certain pre-set commands such as activating Google Assistant etc.
The Pixel 2 is powered by the 8-core Snapdragon 835 SoC by
Qualcomm which is paired up nicely with 4GB of RAM. Just like its predecessor,
there is no card slot on this device and you are limited to storage options of
64/128GB. The Pixel 2 is expected to launch on the 17th of October
with a starting price of $650 for the base model and $750 if you want more storage
space. The colour options include “Kinda Blue”,” Just Black” and “Clearly
White”.

Google Pixel 2 XL
The Google Pixel 2 XL is the premium device among the pair
released. A quick visual inspection of the device and it is clear what has been
upgraded. The Pixel 2 XL sports a nifty 18:9 P-OLED display. The screen
measures 6” in size with a resolution of 1440 x 2880 pixels. There is a
polarizer which should greatly improve the sunlight legibility. The display has
Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for added screen protection.
The Pixel 2 XL, just like the Pixel 2, is equipped with a
12MP main camera equipped with OIS and an 8MP f/2.4 selfie camera which appears
to be the same as those present in the previous generation. The Snapdragon 835
is also present here as well as the same storage options from the Pixel 2
(sorry, no 256GB for you guys).
One feature about these devices is the presence of an “eSIM”
which will enable its users access ‘Google Fi’ as well as several other
services from their respective carriers. The device is powered by a 3,520mAh
battery and there is also IP67 rating for water resistance.
The Pixel 2 XL is expected sometime in November at a
starting price of $850 for the 64GB model or $950 for the 128GB model. The
colour options are “Just Black” and “Black & White”.
