The Galaxy S Light Luxury was just announced in China packing very modest specs, the device is pretty much a "lite" variant of the Galaxy S8. The 5.8' screen from the S8 makes a return keeping the same dimensions as its bigger brother. The Light S features the same Super AMOLED panel with 1,080 x 2,220 px resolution (18.5:9). The phone has a single camera on the back - 16 MP sensor and an f/1.7 aperture. It can record 4K video at 30 fps, but OIS is absent (surprisingly). The selfie camera has an 8 MP sensor with an f/1.7 aperture. The Snapdragon 660 chipset inside the Galaxy S Light Luxury should offer similar CPU performance to the Galaxy S8's 835. It does have 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. Given the Galaxy S Light Luxury's size, it shouldn’t be a surprise that there’s a 3,000 mAh battery – the same capacity as the Galaxy S8. There’s support for fast wireless and wired charging, the latter of which goes over the USB-C port....
Chinese OEM, Innjoo, just announced a new smartphone for the
Nigerian market. Dubbed ‘Vision’, this device is poised to be budget friendly and
should offer more than enough value for money offering 4G LTE connectivity and
a great battery.
DISPLAY
The Vision packs a 5.8-inch IPS LCD screen with a HD+ (720 x
1280px) resolution. This gives it an 18:9 aspect ratio in a bid to keep up with
the 2017 trend. The screen of this device is rather impressive with a touch of
2.5D glass blending the screen to the near invincible bezels on the sides of
the display.

| Innjoo Vision Rear |
The camera on the rear of this device is an 13MP unit. The
actual manufacturer is not stated but given the price range, it could be a
GalaxyCore sensor or an aging Sony IMX sensor and a 5-piece lens. The selfie
shooter is an 8MP unit. Both cameras come with “Enhanced capture” and Bokeh
effect. There is also an After Focus editor to modify the focus range/point of
your images.
PERFORMANCE
The SoC in the heart of this device is a MediaTek MT6737T
processor. Featuring a Quad-core 1.5 GHz 64bit CPU based on Cortex A53, this
should be enough to get through light and moderately demanding tasks. There is
1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. A 3,000mAh battery keeps the lights
on. Innjoo claims this should be enough for 22.5hours of talk time.

The Innjoo Vision looks good and costs around NGN35,000
(~$105) but, that’s about it. The device is not terrible on all accounts but
1GB of RAM? It’s 2017, sure stock Android should not be too heavy with some UI
tweaks but, 2GB of RAM is the order of the day and it is a real disappointment
Innjoo couldn’t keep up. The Vision is expected to be widely available from
mid-November. What are your thoughts on this device? Let’s talk more in the
comments section below.
Stay Frosty.
