Samsung Galaxy S Light Luxury now Official

The Galaxy S Light Luxury was just announced in China packing very modest specs, the device is pretty much a "lite" variant of the Galaxy S8. The 5.8' screen from the S8 makes a return keeping the same dimensions as its bigger brother. The Light S features the same Super AMOLED panel with 1,080 x 2,220 px resolution (18.5:9). The phone has a single camera on the back - 16 MP sensor and an f/1.7 aperture. It can record 4K video at 30 fps, but OIS is absent (surprisingly). The selfie camera has an 8 MP sensor with an f/1.7 aperture. The Snapdragon 660 chipset inside the Galaxy S Light Luxury should offer similar CPU performance to the Galaxy S8's 835. It does have 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. Given the Galaxy S Light Luxury's size, it shouldn’t be a surprise that there’s a 3,000 mAh battery – the same capacity as the Galaxy S8. Car Models That Support Wireless Charging for the iPhone X and iPhone 8

One of the cool features Apple inc added to their latest smartphones releases is the wireless charging functionality, on my previous article on the iPhone X, I mentioned that Apple utilized the Qi standard for wireless charging, But car manufacturers have only recently started implementing this standard in their products. This means at present, only a handful of car models support the use of the Qi technology, making most cars unable to wirelessly charge the iPhone 8 and the iPhone X using Qi standards. Before Qi, special phone cases were required to utilize the wireless charging capabilities of cars but that was a tad stressful for most people.


So if you’ve already gotten the iPhone 8 or the iPhone X and you feel like taking advantage of the Qi standard wireless charging of these devices in your next car, then you should be looking to buy car models from these manufacturers

Before we get all excited about anything, its worthy of note that (according to Apple inc) some Qi charging pads might not be large enough to hold the the larger smartphones like the iPhone 8 plus, this means that for this make you’ll have to stick with charging via cable. Also, because its still a relatively new technology, charging rates are considerably less than those obtained from cable charging. Another downside of charging wirelessly is the reduced ability to use the phone while its on the charging pad.

Apple sets out to Acquire Shazam.

Apple plans to delve further into the music sector by acquiring Shazam, an app that allows users to identify a song by listening to the clip from any part of the song or film or a TV program. The deal was described by a source that it would be dealt in 9 figures while another estimates that it would be about $400 million. Although according to the last valuation the company had back in 2015, it was estimated to be about $1.02 billion dollars according to Pitchbook and hence it is most likely going to be sold lower than that. The deal will definitely be a big one for apple as the app is a widely used one. It was observed to have passed the 1 billion downloads back in September, 2016 which is definitely going to be higher now. Also the app has raised a total of $143 million dollars for a number of investors which also includes Kleiner Perkins which was observed to have also invested in their competitor, Soundcloud. Nokia 6 (2018) Full Specifications

HMD just took the wraps of the Nokia 6 (2018). The device is a successor to the Nokia 6 from last year keeping the 5.5" FullHD display but this time touts a more capable processor and features for a pretty reasonable price. The device runs on near stock Android™ 7.1.1 Nougat with an update to Oreo in the works. The Nokia 6 (2018) is equipped with a Snapdragon 630 chipset. The chipset features an 8-core processor at a max speed of 2.2GHz. There is 4GB of RAM for multitasking which should be pretty sufficient. There is a 32GB variant as well as a 64GB variant. There is also an option to expand this via a dedicated microSD slot (upto 128GB). The rear camera has a native resolution of 16MP and an f/2.0 lenswhile the selfie shooter is pegged at 8MP. LG G7 with ThinQ AI features hit the market with 70000 pre-orders

The LG G7 ThinQ was finally released for sale about a week ago, and despite the rough landing they've had in previous releases, this particular model has managed to score so much as 70,000 pre-order sales in just six days. This is almost twice as much as the G6 sale (40,000) around the same time frame last year. Note this is just in South Korea, so there's still a chance to get higher sales numbers when it eventually goes global. Source

Facial Unlock feature to come with the updated OnePlus 5

OnePlus has decided to give the facial unlock feature to come as an update to the OnePlus 5. Seeing that the tech received a generally accepted view after the iPhone X was released.  This was decided since OnePlus discovered that their debut phone of the year, the OnePlus 5T, does not use any additional hardware functionality for the Face Unlock feature. The co-founder of OnePlus, Carl Pei, in a tweet on Christmas Eve affirmed that there will be an update coming up but he gave no specific time frame. Also, the Android Oreo will be coming to the OnePlus 5, so all OnePlus 5 users are advised to keep tabs with the OnePlus Forum over the Oreo Update. Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL Details and Specifications

The Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL smartphones have just been unveiled by Google as an upgrade to the ‘Pixel’ and ‘Pixel XL’. Google Pixel 2 The Google Pixel is an upgrade over Its predecessor. It comes equipped with a 5” AMOLED display, and a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, which is not much of an upgrade but the compact size should be welcomed by folks that do not have large hands. The bezels on the top and the bottom of the Pixel 2, whilst sporting stereo speakers, comes off as a disappointment with the “Full Vision “18:9 screens and “edge-to-edge” displays being the hype of 2017.
