Samsung Galaxy S Light Luxury now Official

The Galaxy S Light Luxury was just announced in China packing very modest specs, the device is pretty much a "lite" variant of the Galaxy S8. The 5.8' screen from the S8 makes a return keeping the same dimensions as its bigger brother. The Light S features the same Super AMOLED panel with 1,080 x 2,220 px resolution (18.5:9). The phone has a single camera on the back - 16 MP sensor and an f/1.7 aperture. It can record 4K video at 30 fps, but OIS is absent (surprisingly). The selfie camera has an 8 MP sensor with an f/1.7 aperture. The Snapdragon 660 chipset inside the Galaxy S Light Luxury should offer similar CPU performance to the Galaxy S8's 835. It does have 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. Given the Galaxy S Light Luxury's size, it shouldn’t be a surprise that there’s a 3,000 mAh battery – the same capacity as the Galaxy S8. There’s support for fast wireless and wired charging, the latter of which goes over the USB-C port....

Asus Zenfone 4 Pro Review and Specifications

Asus has officially launched the Zenfone 4 and Zenfone 4 Pro in the United States of America. This release comes just after the OEM announced their Zenfone 4 smartphone series. The Zenfone 4 Pro is a flagship class smartphone, featuring a Snapdragon 835 SoC, 6GB RAM and “an unparalleled mobile photography experience.”

DISPLAY

This device is equipped with a 5.5-inch FHD (1080x1920) display. The display is a Super IPS+ panel capable of brightness levels of up to 500nits and over 100% NTSC high colour gamut display. 2016 called, they want their bezels back. The bezels on the Zenfone 4 Pro are not that much different from the regular Zenfone 4. The front and back of this device is encased in 2.5D glass topped off with Corning Gorilla Glass for added protection.
CAMERA

The Zenfone 4 packs dual rear cameras; a 12MP camera with a wide f/1.8 aperture. This is a Sony IMX362 sensor with a large 1.4µm pixel size. There is optical image stabilization present as well. The second rear camera is an 16MP unit which provides 2x physical zoom and 10x digital zoom. There is 4K video recording onboard as well as a professional mode for the photographers out there. The selfie unit of this device is an 8MP, Sony IMX319 image sensor. The ASUS SuperPixel Engine – exclusive image processor also makes an appearance.
HARDWARE

The Snapdragon 835 SoC is at the heart of this device. Built on the 14nm process, it features 8 Kryo cores with clock speeds up to 2.45GHz. There is 6GB of RAM paired with 64GB of internal storage. The home button houses a fingerprint scanner with unlock speeds less than 0.3s. A 3,600mAh battery keeps the phone on for up to 27.5 hours of 3G talk time. There is fast charge present, 50% of battery power in 32 minutes.

FEATURES

The dual pixel technology utilised in the Zenfone 4 Pro camera has 24 million focus detection sensors. ASUS claims this technology “provides ultrafast 0.03 seconds phase-detection and subject tracking auto focus” in order to allow the pictures appear clear and sharp. The professional mode on the Zenfone 4 features a portrait mode and RAW support. The AudioWizard app onboard this device lets you tweak the audio output to suit your needs, and the DTS headphone:X delivers high quality 7.1-channel virtual surround sound via headphones.

The ASUS Zenfone 4 Pro packs a thrilling package for its $359 price tag, that is a solid $200 more than the Zenfone 4. The bezels on this device might be a deal breaker for some people given the 18:9 aspect ratio and ‘Infinity Display’ have caused a stir in the smartphone market in 2017. ASUS should have followed suit (IMHO), given how even cheaper no name Chinese brands have begun flooding the market with their own variants of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Xiaomi MI Mix/Mix. What do you think of the ASUS Zenfone 4 Pro? Is it worth its price or is the Zenfone 4  a better deal? Let’s talk more in the comments section below.

  Oppo F5 Overview and Specifications

The Oppo F5 was just launched in the Philippines after the countless number of adverts. The device features the first 18:9 display from Oppo with an accompanying FHD+ resolution. The F5 is a rather decent mid-range device with an elegant and sleek design, reminiscent of the iPhones though. DISPLAY Look at that device up there (seriously look at it). The F5’s display is beautifully crafted and curved on both sides. With a 6.0-inch screen, featuring a resolution of 1080x2160 pixels giving a tall 18:9 aspect resolution. The panel is an IPS LCD panel, so no awards won there, however the display is gorgeous and rather impressive. CAMERA The camera on this device is a 16MP unit with an f/1.8 aperture and features clear focus. The selfie camera is where the F5 really shines with an amazing 20MP unit and an f/2.0 aperture. The large 1/2.8-inch sensor takes amazing photos. The selfie shooter features A.I beauty which highlights one’s facial features, eyes incl...

Innjoo Vision Review and Specifications

Chinese OEM, Innjoo, just announced a new smartphone for the Nigerian market. Dubbed ‘Vision’, this device is poised to be budget friendly and should offer more than enough value for money offering 4G LTE connectivity and a great battery. DISPLAY The Vision packs a 5.8-inch IPS LCD screen with a HD+ (720 x 1280px) resolution. This gives it an 18:9 aspect ratio in a bid to keep up with the 2017 trend. The screen of this device is rather impressive with a touch of 2.5D glass blending the screen to the near invincible bezels on the sides of the display. CAMERA Innjoo Vision Rear The camera on the rear of this device is an 13MP unit. The actual manufacturer is not stated but given the price range, it could be a GalaxyCore sensor or an aging Sony IMX sensor and a 5-piece lens. The selfie shooter is an 8MP unit. Both cameras come with “Enhanced capture” and Bokeh effect. There is also an After Focus editor to modify the focus range/point of your images. PERFORM...

iOS Apps Can Spy on You Through Your iPhone's Camera

Another privacy loophole in the apple iOS was discovered when top iOS researcher and founder of Fastlane Tools, Felix Krause, noticed the problem in the mobile firmware. He said that apple was leaving its camera and recording access so loosely such that third party apps can easily spy on users without any warning. Krause explained that “iOS users often grant camera access to an app soon after they download it (e.g. to add an avatar or to send a photo) and these apps, like a messaging app or any news feed based app, can easily track the users face, take pictures, or live stream the front or back camera without the user’s content.” He further explained that a worse-case scenario will be an app that is installed and asks once for the camera access to either take an avatar or upload an image but then secretly upload pictures of the user on the internet. He also noticed that under the latest iOS version apps have been given to much freedom in the sense that it cou...

LG G7 with ThinQ AI features hit the market with 70000 pre-orders

The LG G7 ThinQ was finally released for sale about a week ago, and despite the rough landing they've had in previous releases, this particular model has managed to score so much as 70,000 pre-order sales in just six days. This is almost twice as much as the G6 sale (40,000) around the same time frame last year. Note this is just in South Korea, so there's still a chance to get higher sales numbers when it eventually goes global. Source

Amazon to launch Echo, Echo Plus and Echo Dot in Japan

After Amazon launched the Echo, Echo Plus, and Echo Dot in Japan some days ago, it made the hardware together with the Alexa voice assistant available in the country. While Amazon claims to have an Alexa voice search for Japan soon, developers can gain access to Alexa skills which also has support for Japanese and it has Alexa available for customers also along with a list of apps and services that amazon has to offer. While this new device might help to boost amazon’s market in Japan, it is very unlikely that it will help them to overtake Rakuten, as Japan’s biggest E-commerce firm. Although Amazon has offered e-books in Japan since 2010 and as of today has a full suite of Prime services, considerable amount of work would still be required if they are to ever overtake Rakuten. Due to the fact that Japan has the third largest Global economy, Amazon would still be in for a potentially lucrative market in Japan.   Amazon also launched a basic edition of its Fire TV Stic...

The iPhone X full phone review and specifications

When we talk about the iPhone series, a lot comes to mind, and one of those things is the cutting edge they build into their products, in light of this, the iPhone X (ten) is no exception and this article shows what the 1000 dollar smartphone will do for you.  Design        Alright first off, let’s talk aesthetics, Apple took quite a bit of a different approach on the iPhone X, ditching the bezels and taking out the home button (more on that in a moment). The front and back has a complete glass finish which according to Apple are supposedly the more durable on a smart phone, but you really don’t wanna test that out cause apparently a glass replacement for the back of the iPhone X costs about three times as much as the screen replacement, so do the math. The part of the smartphone that isn’t glass is made with surgical grade stainless steel which has been sealed for dust and water resistance. According to Apple the iphone X will be ...
