Samsung Galaxy S Light Luxury now Official

The Galaxy S Light Luxury was just announced in China packing very modest specs, the device is pretty much a "lite" variant of the Galaxy S8. The 5.8' screen from the S8 makes a return keeping the same dimensions as its bigger brother. The Light S features the same Super AMOLED panel with 1,080 x 2,220 px resolution (18.5:9). The phone has a single camera on the back - 16 MP sensor and an f/1.7 aperture. It can record 4K video at 30 fps, but OIS is absent (surprisingly). The selfie camera has an 8 MP sensor with an f/1.7 aperture. The Snapdragon 660 chipset inside the Galaxy S Light Luxury should offer similar CPU performance to the Galaxy S8's 835. It does have 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. Given the Galaxy S Light Luxury's size, it shouldn’t be a surprise that there’s a 3,000 mAh battery – the same capacity as the Galaxy S8. There’s support for fast wireless and wired charging, the latter of which goes over the USB-C port....

The Nokia 2 comes with a very basic offering, maybe too basic, for €99. This device seemed like a good deal with its impressive build quality but, 1GB of RAM in 2017? I could forgive the storage but apps are getting more and more demanding and limiting users to that amount of RAM is absurd. There are a lot of devices under that price range that could give you more value for money. The ZTE ZMAX Pro being one of them. There is also the numerous Chinese smartphones flooding the market from Bluboo, Xiaomi and countless others. I could write an entire article on devices that cost less and offer more. A lot of users will defend this smartphone stating it is intended as a “secondary phone” but for the target market, the ideal secondary phone has a keypad, calls ,texts and is probably manufactured by Nokia.

The Nokia 2 is not a performance driven device but for that price range a MediaTek MT6737T or Snapdragon 410 would suffice also, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. HMD really need to step up their game. They are not Apple. Sorry for my little rant up there. What so you think about the Nokia 2? Worth it? Let’s talk more in the comments section below.
