The Galaxy S Light Luxury was just announced in China packing very modest specs, the device is pretty much a "lite" variant of the Galaxy S8. The 5.8' screen from the S8 makes a return keeping the same dimensions as its bigger brother. The Light S features the same Super AMOLED panel with 1,080 x 2,220 px resolution (18.5:9). The phone has a single camera on the back - 16 MP sensor and an f/1.7 aperture. It can record 4K video at 30 fps, but OIS is absent (surprisingly). The selfie camera has an 8 MP sensor with an f/1.7 aperture. The Snapdragon 660 chipset inside the Galaxy S Light Luxury should offer similar CPU performance to the Galaxy S8's 835. It does have 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. Given the Galaxy S Light Luxury's size, it shouldn’t be a surprise that there’s a 3,000 mAh battery – the same capacity as the Galaxy S8. There’s support for fast wireless and wired charging, the latter of which goes over the USB-C port....
Vivo is out with another innovation, fresh from being the first smartphone to use the on-screen Fingerprint scanner, an upcoming Vivo smartphone has surfaced on Weibo. Leaked photos show this device to be the X-Play 7. It's rumoured this device would be launched sometime this year.
According to a presentation by Vivo, the X-Play 7 is gonna come with 10GB of RAM and 256GB/512GB onboard storage. - that's some pc level specs in my opinion. The phone is also expected to sport a 92.9% screen to body aspect ratio, this means that it will be outfitted with an in-screen Fingerprint sensor. Suffice to add that this phone may actually be truly bezelless.
Smartphones by Vivo with this embedded fingerprint sensor use a Synaptic Clear ID optical sensor. Said sensor only works with an OLED Display because it doesn't require backlighting as opposed to LCD displays. The sensor works from gaps between pixels hence keeping the tech invisible.
As expected from a premium range device, the Vivo X-Play is also expected to feature a 4k Display and twin camera setup courtesy of Sony's IMX sensors. The device will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 845 processor.
With this innovative motion by Vivo we expect more smartphone makers to come with a 10GB RAM upgrade this year, this may already be the case as there's a high possibility that the next Oneplus smartphone is going to adopt the same.
There’s currently little data about the official launch date of the Xplay 7 but we're expecting the phone to make an appearance during MWC 2018 where Vivo is listed as an exhibitor.
