Samsung Galaxy S Light Luxury now Official

The Galaxy S Light Luxury was just announced in China packing very modest specs, the device is pretty much a "lite" variant of the Galaxy S8. The 5.8' screen from the S8 makes a return keeping the same dimensions as its bigger brother. The Light S features the same Super AMOLED panel with 1,080 x 2,220 px resolution (18.5:9). The phone has a single camera on the back - 16 MP sensor and an f/1.7 aperture. It can record 4K video at 30 fps, but OIS is absent (surprisingly). The selfie camera has an 8 MP sensor with an f/1.7 aperture. The Snapdragon 660 chipset inside the Galaxy S Light Luxury should offer similar CPU performance to the Galaxy S8's 835. It does have 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. Given the Galaxy S Light Luxury's size, it shouldn’t be a surprise that there’s a 3,000 mAh battery – the same capacity as the Galaxy S8. There’s support for fast wireless and wired charging, the latter of which goes over the USB-C port.

LG G7 with ThinQ AI features hit the market with 70000 pre-orders

The LG G7 ThinQ was finally released for sale about a week ago, and despite the rough landing they've had in previous releases, this particular model has managed to score so much as 70,000 pre-order sales in just six days. This is almost twice as much as the G6 sale (40,000) around the same time frame last year. Note this is just in South Korea, so there's still a chance to get higher sales numbers when it eventually goes global. Source

Now you can ask follow up requests on Alexa without Saying 'Hey Alexa'

Alexa users around the globe would be forever grateful to Amazon Inc for this one, cos you and I know how annoying it can be having to use the "Alexa" command every time a request is to be made. With this innovation, having a conversation with the Alexa AI becomes a bit more natural. This new feature is available in all hands-free Amazon device, talking about the echo, echo dot and echo spot. For those thinking " what if I'm not referring to Alexa in my next request would Alexa reply nonetheless", Well, the good news is that, the AI has also been programmed to discern direct requests from background noise. According to Amazon, the follow up won't work if Alexa "isn't confident you are speaking to her". According to Megan Rose from TechCrunch, This opt-in feature enables Alexa to listen for five seconds after she’s served up her first response. You’ll know if Alexa is ready for a follow-up question if the blue indicator light is on after A

Vivo X-Play 7 smartphone to sport 10Gb of RAM 512GB storage and 4k Display

Vivo is out with another innovation, fresh from being the first smartphone to use the on-screen Fingerprint scanner, an upcoming Vivo smartphone has surfaced on Weibo. Leaked photos show this device to be the X-Play 7. It's rumoured this device would be launched sometime this year. According to a presentation by Vivo, the X-Play 7 is gonna come with 10GB of RAM and 256GB/512GB onboard storage. - that's some pc level specs in my opinion. The phone is also expected to sport a 92.9% screen to body aspect ratio, this means that it will be outfitted with an in-screen Fingerprint sensor. Suffice to add that this phone may actually be truly bezelless. Smartphones by Vivo with this embedded fingerprint sensor use a Synaptic Clear ID optical sensor. Said sensor only works with an OLED Display because it doesn't require backlighting as opposed to LCD displays. The sensor works from gaps between pixels hence keeping the tech invisible. As expected from a premium range device, th

iOS update fixes a bug that would allow others sabotage your phone with a text message

A bug that would allow others to freeze your iPhone with little more than a text message was discovered by Software developer and researcher Abraham Masri last week. The bug which most people have become quite familiar with on Social media is referred to as a 'Text-bomb'. It occurs when a would be attacker sends a URL via text message to the receiver's mobile, when the recipient's smartphone starts processing it for preview, the bug activates, and the device starts doing some weird stuff ranging from- Freezing, to Kernel issues and home screen crashes. This bug was supposedly fixed in the iOS 11.2.5 patch which was pushed to iPhone devices recently Apple, as we all know are not always open about the bugs found on their devices, but this time they mention in their security notes that 'it stemmed from the way links received in text messages are processed and presented. Apple credits Masri for finding the bug.

Ulefone Mix 2 Review and Specifications

For the most of last year Chinese OEM’s have been releasing budget friendly versions of flagship devices, though unoriginal in design, they pretty much offer a lot of value for money. The Ulefone Mix 2 might bear a similar name to the Mi Mix 2, but the differences are glaring to see and its refreshing to see Ulefone use its own original design. UNBOXING The Ulefone Mix 2 comes with a very basic package. The phone sits atop the box and in the underlying compartment, there is a USB 2.0 cable, a ring holder, a screen protector and a basic user guide and warranty slip. There are no headphones included in the package. This sounds disappointing but for a sub $100 device, this is forgivable. There are no hardware navigational keys on the front of the display with the manufacturer opting for software keys instead. The power and volume rocker are on the right side of the Mix 2 and offer good enough tactile feedback. The 3.5mm jack is situated on top of the device whilst t

Steel Series Rival 600: The Gaming Mouse you need

Steel Series has just introduced a new mouse for gamers that seeks to eliminate any annoying "skips" that are known to occur when in the heat of battle. The Rival 600 has a second sensor from PixArt that promises to eliminate the surprise cursor movements that come whenever you lift your mouse either on purpose or by accident. The component ntracks lift distance to a greater level of precision of about 0.2", and it also lets users customize when tracking begins and ends to match your mousing habits. Th Rival 600 has an unconventional design, placing the weights on the side rather than in the middle. This allows users adjust the centre of gravity of the mouse. The RGB lighting is customizable, as well as savable macros and buttons. The main sensor is the same 12,000 CPI TrueMove 3 sensor as in the Rival 310. The Steel Series 600 is going to set you back about $80 and is highly recommended if mouse skipping is an annoyance when lining up that perfect sniper shot in P

Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 plus Rumoured to appear at CES 2018

It appears that the Korean company may provide a sneak peek of the Samsung galaxy S9 and the S9 plus much earlier than expected. News coming from Venturebeat says that both marquee smartphones are going to make an appearance at the popular Consumer electronic trade show held yearly at Las Vegas. Prior to this, Samsung had already announced that the Galaxy S9 and S9 plus would be fully introduced circa March 2018. So the cameo appearance at January's CES would mean the public would be getting a preview 2 months before the official intro. If you've been following the previous Samsung releases you'd have noticed that Samsung rarely makes sneak peeks at CES, probably making this their first official smartphone preview at CES. Though at the moment Samsung has said it “does not comment on product rumours or speculations.” However they choose to introduce the Galaxy S9 and S9 plus, speculations about the device specifications abounds. The Galaxy S9 plus for example has be
